Strength of the snapback

Today there was a setback for the labor market, as a reading on private job creation last month was short of forecasts. The U.S. trade gap also got a lot wider in April and worker productivity plunged in the first quarter of the year because of all the snow and cold, which paralyzed factories, offices, retailers and more. But as winter turned to spring, we’ve seen green shoots for the economy as it slowly, but maybe not so steadily returns to growth.
