Twin records

Looks like “sell in May and go away” didn’t quite work out this time. Both the S&P 500 and the Dow closed at new record levels today on this last trading day of the month. Stocks were lower for most of the day following a disappointing surprise on the economic front showing consumer spending in April fell for the first time in two years as prices started inching up. Despite that, the bulls persevered.
