For more than three decades, Nightly Business Report has been the premier evening business news program on television. Tonight a new chapter begins, but the program you have come to trust endures. Under CNBC’s stewardship, NBR will remain your home for the best, smartest business and market news, analysis, interpretation and context. With CNBC’s global resources, NBR will reach farther and dig deeper than it ever has before. I’m delighted to be joining the program, and Susie, and look forward to building on NBR’s legacy of accurate, unbiased reporting and superior journalism.

Tonight is the start of a new chapter for Nightly Business Report—and for me. It will be the first show I do with a new co-anchor, Tyler Mathisen, and a new owner—CNBC. I’m excited. I am really looking forward to working with CNBC to help Nightly Business Report grow and expand. NBR has a remarkable legacy—34 years of broadcasting on PBS. That’s almost unheard of in our business. It has had the staying power because it offers something special: a high quality wrap up of the day’s business news with unbiased and thoughtful analysis. I am confident the program, which continues on public television, has a bright future, thanks to the tremendous resources and support of CNBC. CNBC is a fabulous brand. So is NBR. I think together we can be a powerhouse.
