According to Facebook, the former secretary of state’s announcement that she is running for president garnered a little more than 10 million interactions (likes, shares and comments) in 24 hours. Clinton announced her candidacy on Sunday.
Fellow presidential hopefuls Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, however, only received 1.9 million and 5.5 million interactions, respectively, within the same time period, Facebook also said. Paul announced his candidacy on Tuesday and Cruz on March 23.
Clinton’s announcement also got massive traction within the Twitter-verse, as more than 420,000 tweets mentioned her name in 2.5 hours, according to Twitter Data.
