McDonald’s

McDonald’s sales in the U.S. are still slipping and so is the stock. The world’s largest burger chain reported a small rise in global sales, but here in the U.S. sales continued to decline. McDonald’s blamed “ongoing broad-based challenges” for the slump. Shares were off a fraction to $101.38.

Netflix

Shareholders of Netflix voted down a proposal to split up the company’s chairman and CEO roles, according to Dow Jones. Reed Hastings, the company’s founder holder both of those titles. Shares of the video-streaming service fell more than 1.5 percent to $423.09.

Amazon

Amazon has a new e-commerce strategy. To online retailer launched a service called Amazon Payments that lets consumers use their Amazon accounts to send and receive money and shop other than Amazon.com. The company will charge a fee to other than Amazon.com. Shares of Amazon were off a fraction to $327.50.

Kraft

Kraft Foods is hiking coffee prices by 10 percent because of rising green bean coffee costs. The move will affect its Maxwell House and Yuban brands. Kraft is the second major American roaster to up prices, just last week J.M. Smucker increased its coffee prices by more than one percent to $60.42.
